In three days from 20 to 22 April 2009, the workshop “Standardization of Geographic Information " is held by the Vietnam Association of Geodesy Cartography and Remote Sensing collaborated with the Vietnam Department of Survey and Mapping in Hanoi. Attending the workshop includes Cambodia, Lao People's Democratic Republic, National Geographic Department, Norway Terrain Cartographic Office, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Department of Mapping (General Staff - Ministry of Defense), National Institute of Science and Technology, University of Mining and Hanoi National University...

There are 15 presentations in the workshop focused on the current status, needs, works in progress aim to build a standardization of geographic information. With the purpose of Workshop is to build the action trend and the inter-countries coordination among Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia in the construction of standard geographic information. It is known that Norway will support in technology transfer, techniques, organizing vocational training for Vietnam to speed up the construction, application of standard geographic information (Norway is a country having good standard geographic information in the world).
